Pearling
Pearling refers to the O2 bubbles that come off a plant during photosynthesis. These bubbles are a result of water that is saturated with oxygen and as a result, the oxygen that is released by the plants can't be absorbed. Tiny bubbles, or "pearls" are formed on the plant and rise to the surface. Normally this will only happen in a higher light tank that is injected with CO2 and has a relativly low bio load. Should not be used as an indicator of tank health. Tanks with a high bio load are less likely to have true pearling, but still experience fast growth with healthy plants.
Also see false pearling and Streaming.
